Wash traces its roots to Duro Cleaners, a Pittsburgh dry cleaning institution founded in 1959. For decades, Duro served Pittsburgh's communities with a reputation built on quality, consistency, and the kind of personal service that keeps generations of families coming back.

In 2017, Joe and Sarah Ferrante — Fox Chapel area residents and proud members of the Fox Chapel school district community — acquired Duro Cleaners with a clear vision: honor the craft that had served Pittsburgh since 1959, while building something that could serve it for decades more.

In 2025, that vision became Wash. A modern rebrand, a state-of-the-art facility in Cheswick, an eco-certified approach, and a delivery model built for the way Pittsburgh lives today. The lineage stretching back to 1959 remains. The experience is entirely new.

Wash is owned and operated by Joe and Sarah Ferrante — Fox Chapel area residents, parents of two children in the Fox Chapel school district, and deeply invested members of the Pittsburgh community they serve. This isn't a venture-backed startup. It's a family business, in every sense of the word.

Joe brings decades of hands-on garment care expertise, having spent years building on the legacy of Duro Cleaners before launching Wash in 2025. Sarah brings the vision and values that shape every client interaction — the warmth, the attention to detail, and the commitment to making every customer feel genuinely cared for.

When you sign up with Wash, Joe's team reaches out personally. When a client left a suit behind on a business trip, Joe tracked it down and shipped it to them.
